Novocontact Pelham, Double Jt. 16mm, Sensogan 000 135 mm
Only when the rider gives a reinforced rein aid the mouthpiece turns forward and the contact surface gets narrower, ensuring more precise and effective communication. Thus, novocontact bits improve the interaction between horse and rider for a better contact and acceptance of the bit.
Due to the modern novocontact geometry, this double-jointed model is a good choice for horses that occasionally get strong but are too sensitive for more impactful bits. These horses also reacted positively to the bit in practical tests. It fits ergonomically in the horse's mouth, has a large contact surface on the tongue and thus supports a soft but clear impact.
This pelham allows for a precise and effective aid transmission to the whole tongue, poll, and lower jaw. Depending on the fastening the leverage on the poll can be adjusted individually.
The pelham is often used with bit converters. If rider and horse are already more highly trained, it is advisable to use two pairs of reins: then the leverage can be applied most sensitively. The bit is used with a curb chain that should allow a 45° angle between shank and mouth in order to limit the pressure on the poll.
