This snaffle bit is to be used with one set of reins. The pressure is distributed evenly between the horse‘s nose, lower jaw and poll. More rein action puts some pressure on the angle of the mouth. Suitable for horses that are very sensitive in the mouth, but can’t be ridden with a Hackamore only. The Tongue Port Snaffle gives the horse’s tongue enough room because of the flattened area on the port. Many horses react to this with more relaxation and chewing. Therefore this bit is perfect for horses that won’t tolerate pressure on the tongue and for those who tend to stick their tongue above the bit.
